Construction of a Kindergarten to Provide an Early Start to Childhood Education (Vietnam)


The project: Construction of a kindergarten center to provide education services to 400 local children in the Cu Chi district of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.


The story: Recognizing the importance of early childhood education and that children are the future hope for the community, CP Foundation which is an affiliate of YP Foundation, along with the Taiwan Red Cross helped to fund the construction and equipping of a stand alone kindergarten building in a rural district of Ho Chi Minh City. The Hoa Phu Kindergarten made it possible for more than 400 children in Hoa Phu and neighboring communes to enroll and begin their schooling. It also provided a nurturing, safe and educationally stimulating environment for the students, parents and teachers.


The results: The project was completed by the fourth quarter of 2013. Hoa Phu Kindergarten continues to operate today under the Vietnamese government and each year sees a new group of children embarking on their learning journey.
